Former Resident Buried at Lake Side

Died at Home in Keene Township. Member of I.O.O.F., Funeral Largely Attended. 
Brother of Jake Brock and Nancy Shupp.

Obituary.

Robert M. Brock was born near Tiffin, O., March 5, 1863, and passed away, July
14, 1929, at his home in Keene township, after an illness of several years.  He
came to Michigan when a young man where he lived in and near Lake Odessa.

He was married to Miss Maude Cox of that place June 22, 1890, and made their
home near Lake Odessa until the year of 1907 when they bought a farm in West
Keene, which was their home until 1927 when they retired from farming owing to
Mr. Brock’s illness.

After residing a few months in Saranac they bought their present home at Potters
corners where their only daughter Mrs. Clayton Cahoon and husband have shared
their home assisting in the care of their beloved father.

Mr. Brock was a member of the Lake Odessa lodge of Odd Fellows for the past 30
years.

He leaves besides the widow and daughter, two granddaughters, Carol and Mary Lou
Cahoon; two sisters Mrs. Nancy Shupp of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Jane McCurdy of
Grand Rapids; one brother Jake Brock of Lake Odessa, and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the home in Keene and burial was in
the Lake Side cemetery.  Rev. Carr of Saranac preached.  The nephews acted as
pall bearers.  They were Elta Shupp, Alba McCurdy, James and Lester Knee, Grant
Adams and George Hazel.  The I.O.O.F. of Lake Odessa attended the funeral.
