The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, February 10, 1978
Esther L. Brock, 53, of 1512 Johnson street, died Thursday afternoon at her 
home following an extended illness.  She was born December 7, 1914 in Orleans, 
the daughter of Russell and Grace Hawkins Nelson and graduated from Ionia high 
school in 1942 and the school of cosmetology.

She married Howard Brock September 22, 1946.  He preceded her in death July 
24, 1976.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Barbara) Fredricks of Lake Odessa 
and Patricia Brock at home; one son, William of Manassas Park, Virginia; one 
sister, Mrs. Floyd (Ethel) Hoppough of Saranac and one granddaughter.

Services are Monday at 1:30 p.m. from the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel in Lake 
Odessa with Rev. Howard VugteVeen officiating. Burial is in Lakeside 
cemetery.  Family will receive friends and relatives at the chapel Saturday 
and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
