Ionia Sentinel - Standard
Stuart Murray Brock, 82, whose Ionia home was listed at 409 Union street, died 
suddenly at Cadillac Mercy hospital Friday.  He had been living at Cadillac.  
Born March 25, 1891 in Ionia, he was the son of Loren Phillip and Bertha 
Milliken Brock, Ionia pioneers. 
 
Mr. Brock was a life long salesman and more recently had been a representative 
of a fraternal insurance company.  He was a life-time member of the Ionia St. 
Johns Lutheran church.

Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 2:30 pm at the Stone-Kauffman 
Funeral home on East Washington street.  Burial will be at Highland Park 
cemetery, Ionia.  Family will be at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 2 
until 4 pm.  Rev Robert D. Koeppen, pastor of the Lutheran church at St. Johns 
will officiate.  Surviving are his wife, Maren of 409 Union Street, Ionia; a son 
Stuart Phillip of Silver Springs, Maryland; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth 
(Betty) Harris of Owosso and Mrs. Gertrude (Trudy) Scheidt of Dunedin, Fla.; a 
sister, Mrs. Chester W. Clark of Silver Springs, Maryland; eight grandchildren 
and seven great grandchildren.
