The death of Claude H. Brockway, aged 67 years, took place at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Leo Edwards, at Ionia, Thursday night of last week. Mr. Brockway had not been in good health for two years but his affliction was such that it had kept him from his work only for the two weeks prior to his death. For a number of years Mr. Brockway was a resident of this city where he was employed as a master plumber by the old T. Frank Ireland Co. After residing in this city for a time he returned to Ionia where he continued in his trade as plumber. Mr. Brockway was born at Elba, N. Y., on May 28, 1877. He was married to Clara B. Rockey of Petoskey. Mrs. Brockway died in 1927. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Edwards, at whose home he died, and Mrs. Grace L. Bobbins of Grand Rapids, as well as a son, Harold, of Traverse City, and six grandchildren; also by a brother and a sister. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Baptist church in Ionia and with members of the Ionia Masonic lodge attending. Burial was in the cemetery at Petoskey.
