Ionia Daily Sentinel – 8 April 1935
Andrew Brodersen, 89, died Saturday afternoon at the home of his daughter, 
Mrs. Frank Stevens, 509 Union Street following a long illness.  He was born in 
Denmark July 27, 1846, and he came to America at the age of 56.  He lived for 
two years in Illinois; four years in North Dakota, and 27 years in Michigan.  
He resided in Trufant for five years and the remainder of his time was spent 
in Ionia.  Mrs. Brodersen died in Ionia July 5, 1923.

He is survived by one brother Louis of Dwight, Ill., one son George Brodersen 
of North Dakota and two daughters, Mrs. Frank Stevens, 509 Union Street and 
Mrs. Charles S. Peterson, Orange Township, 20 grandchildren and 18 great-
grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held from the home 509 Union Street Tuesday afternoon 
at 2 o’clock and Rev. Theodore Beck of Trufant will officiate.  Interment will 
be at the family lot at Higbee Cemetery.
