Ionia Sentinel Standard, 31 Oct 1987

Irene J. Broga, 83, formerly of Ionia, died Oct. 1 in Virginia Beach, Va.  She
was born in Ionia Nov. 9, 1904, the daughter of John and Caroline Mier.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Vivian) Hitt of Virginia Beach, Va.,
and Sandra Potter of Ionia; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and
six great-great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Hubert (Alice) Paulson of
Ionia.  Her husband Leroy preceded her in death in 1975, and son Russell died in
1986.  

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Main Street Chapel of
Montgomery Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Easton Cemetery.  Eastern Star
memorial services will be conducted under the auspices of the Queen Esther
Chapter, No. 35, Sunday at 3 p.m.  The family will be at the funeral home Sunday
from 2 to 4 p.m.
