Brogan died on Saturday evening at 9 o’clock at the home of his brother-in-law, Ed. Scheidt, on North Dexter St. Deceased was aged 30 years, and was a cigar maker by trade, being last employed by Barrett & Scully. He was a member of the local cigar makers union, the members of which body were considerately attentive to his wants in the more recent weeks of his illness. The funeral was attended from the church of SS. Peter & Paul, on Tuesday morning. The funeral of John P. Brogan was quite largely attended from the Church of SS. Peter & Paul on Tuesday and many friends accompanied the remains of the young man to their last earthly resting place in the Catholic cemetery. The cigar makers union of which deceased was a member, attended in a body, and the carriers were selected from the members of that body, viz: Miles Loftus, William Kilmartin, John Gazella, Thomas Duffy, Will Kinney, Patrick McDonald.
