Mrs. Mary M. Beard Brooke, age 66, of Lansing formerly of Lake Odessa went to be
with her Lord on November 21, 1998 at Michigan Capital Healthcare, Lansing.  She
was born January 17, 1932 in Ionia County, the daughter of Ernest and Alice
(Durkee) Beard.

She married Royce W. Brooke on September 20, 1953 and he preceded her in death
on June 4, 1988.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sylvia; son,
Ray; and brothers, Walter, Carl, Herbert and Edger Beard.

Mrs. Brooke is survived by her daughter, Gayle (Lee) Williams of Lake Odessa;
Jeremy and Ben Williams; and granddaughter, Nikki Brooke; sister, Helen Strong
of Spring Arbor; brother, Robert Beard of Lake Odessa; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brooke will be held Tuesday, November 24, 1998 at 1:30
p.m. at the Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa with Reverend Emmett Kadwell
officiating with interment in Lakeside Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the
family.
