Portland Observer, 3 May 1882

Died – On Sunday last, after a protracted and painful illness, the wife of Isaac 
N. Brooks.  An affectionate wife, a doting mother, and an ornament to society, 
had passed to the higher life, leaving a husband, father and mother and five 
children, besides numerous other relatives and friends to mourn their loss.
