The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Saturday, October 22, 1955

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Myers funeral home 
for Mrs. Esther Brooks of 133 Cleveland street.  The Rev. Paul Knaak 
officiated and interment was at Tuttle cemetery.

Elmer White had charge of the flowers and the pallbearers were George, Morris, 
Howard Jr., Melvin, Floyd, Robert and Kenneth Brooks and Miles Hull.

Those attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Ben Butler, Mrs. Ethel 
Butler and John Butler of Charlotte, Harold Tooley and family of Albion, Mrs. 
Ethel Hubbel of Indiana, Mrs. Wilbur DeWatter and Rurel Butler of Quincy, Mr. 
and Mrs. Paul Jolloff, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Golden and daughters of Lansing, 
Mrs. Barbara Myers of Lake Odessa and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Brooks and family of 
Nashville.  Mr. and Mrs. Percy Penfold of East Jordan were unable to attend 
because of being involved in an automobile accident en route to the funeral.  
They were both hospitalized.  Mrs. Penfold is a sister of Mrs. Books.
