Arthur E. “Art” Brooks, 79, of Belding and formerly of Orleans, entered the
grace and peace of our Lord on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, in Ionia.

Art was born on April 17, 1929 in Grand Rapids, the son of Clarence and Girtha
Mae Sower Brooks.  Art was a life member of F&AM Lodge No. 355 and attended
Shiloh Community Church.  He loved to play big game bingo, go hunting and
fishing and was an avid motorcyclist and race car enthusiast.

He was married on May 5, 1965 to Jackie Satterlee and she survives along with
their children, Linda Willison of Ionia, Karen (Jerry) Sparks of Alpena, Lonnie
(Lori) Brooks of Shepherd, Bryon Brooks of Vestaburg, Bill Troxel and Erica
Estep of Sand Lake and Connie (David) Kern of Belding; grandchildren, Jack
(Kendra) Proctor, Cindy (Kacee) Chapin, Amber (Kris) Keene, Lacey (Shawn)
Powell, Rorik Brooks, Tony Brooks, Karie Brooks Billy Smith, Heather Troxel,
A.J. Estep, Lindsey Kern and Davis Kern II; his eleven great-grandchildren; his
brother-and-sister-in-law, Lewis and Shirley Brooks and sister-in-law Ruth
Brooks, all of Belding.  He was preceded by his parents and one brother, Cal.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shiloh Community Church with Pastor
Ken Harger officiating.  Interment will follow in Orleans Township Cemetery. 
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home,
Belding, and one hour before the service at church.  Memorial contributions may
be given to Shiloh Community Church.
