Brooks, died at her home in Ronald Saturday evening at 7:15 following an illness of the last week. She was a lifelong resident of Ronald township, and was born there March 29, 1871, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Whitmore and had resided in that township with the exception of two years she spent with relatives in New York following the death of her mother in 1880. She attended rural shcools in Roanld and graduated from the Ioina high school. She was married December 31, 1892, to Charles L. Brooks, of Ionia, by the late Rev. W.H. Scott at the time pastor the Church of Christ. Surviving besides her husband are one son, Vere W. Brooks, of Ronald, one daughter, Mrs. Herbert Ward, Easton; two brothers, George Whitmore of Vickeryville and John Whitmore of Shepherd; two sisters, Mrs. Leo Squires, Odgen Utah and Mrs. Ernest Mier, of Heiner, Utah. Funeral services will be held from the home in Ronald township Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Paul L. Stewart, pastor of the Church of Christ officiating.
