The Portland Observer, Thursday, March 23, 1922

Word has been received in Portland of the death at Hastings, Monday of Miss 
Ella Brooks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Brooks, who resided here some 
years ago.  She was a student of Hastings’s high school and if her life had 
been spared would have graduated in June.

The remains will be brought here for burial with funeral services held at the 
Baptist church, tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at one o’clock.  Rev. Bouck of 
Eagle will officiate.  Interment will be made in Portland cemetery.
