The Ionia County News, Thursday, November 14, 1929

The funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Brooks, who died Thursday morning at the 
home of her daughter, Mrs. Claude Billings, 313 East Washington street, were 
held from Mrs. Billings’ home Saturday afternoon with Rev. W. F. Kendrick, 
assisted by Rev. Charles Haywood, in charge.  The interment took place in Oak 
Hill cemetery.  Harry Charles, Luther DeHart, Otto Reis, Guy Connor, Temple 
Fouch, and William Haas were the bearers and Miss Lucy Cull and Mrs. Bert 
Underwood provided the music. 

Before coming to Ionia to live with her daughter, Mrs. Brooks lived in Saranac 
and was active in the ladies aid society of the Methodist Episcopal church, 
and a large number of these associates were here to attend the services.  
Others from away were Mrs. Maude Meisenheimer, of Ludington, and Mrs. Bessie 
Meisenheimer, of Washington, D. C.
