Ionia Sentinel Standard, 13 Aug 2004

Melvin Brooks, aged 76, of Ionia, passed away August 10, 2004 in Ionia.  He was 
born July 22, 1928 in Belding the son of Howard and Esther (Moore) Brooks.  He 
would go on to marry Mattie Nielsen February 27, 1953.  She preceded him in 
death.

He is survived by his son Samuel H. Brooks of Ionia and his daughter Judy Kay 
Brooks of Palo; nine grandchildren; brother George Brooks of Sheridan.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Ray, Edna, Morris, Howard, Floyd, 
Robert and Kenneth.

Funeral services for Mr. Brooks were held Thursday at Tuttle Cemetery.  
Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home of Ionia.
