Norman (Willis) Brooks, age 92, of Muir, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2005 in 
Muir.  He was born July 3, 1912 in Easton Twp. the son of Cal and (Nellie) 
Brooks.  He married Marylyn Lafftrey January 21, 1939.  Norman owned and 
operated Brooks Sawmill.  He was a member of Gleaners Life Insurance Society 
and a life member of Lyons Masonic Lodge.  He attended Seventh Day Adventist 
Church in Ionia.

He is survived by his sons; James and Connie Brooks of Caledonia, Robert Brooks 
of Muir, Carl and Margie Brooks of Wyoming, Mich., Anthony and Sally Brooks of 
Muir, daughters; Glorie and Don Korn of Olympia, Wash., Mary Deusek of Tucson, 
Ariz.; Josephine Linderman of Ionia; sister Kathleen Bowers of Grand Rapids, 16 
grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marylyn; both parents; son, Norman; one 
grandson, Eddie; brothers, Clarence, AC, and Albert.

Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Seventh Day Adventist Church in 
Ionia with Rev. James Micheff officiating.  Interment North Plains Cemetery.  
The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 
p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Muir.  For those wishing you may make 
a memorial contribution to Ionia Area Hospice.
