The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Friday, November 19, 1943


Vere W. Brooks, 50, died Friday at 12:45 a.m. in Blodgett Memorial hospital, 
where he was taken by ambulance Tuesday.  He was born December 9, 1893, in 
Ronald township, and had spent his entire life there, where he had owned his 
own farm.  He attended school at Woodard Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Ann, one sister, Mrs. Hazel Ward, of Ionia.  He was 
a member of the St. John’s Episcopal church and of the Masonic lodge of Palo.

The body will be taken to the home Saturday afternoon.  Funeral services will 
be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Myers funeral home.  Rev. Henry 
A. Hanson will officiate, and burial will be in Highland Park cemetery.  The 
casket will be closed during the services.
