Lewis A. “Louie” Brooks, 71, of Belding, died Monday morning, Oct. 13, 2008, at
Spectrum Health United Hospital, Greenville.  Louie was born Aug. 11, 1937, in
Easton Township, the son of Clarence and Girtha Mae Sower Brooks.  Louie
graduated from Belding High School with the class of 1957 and served in the
United States Army.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 203 and
Veterans Of Foreign Wars Post 4406 in Belding.  He attended Shiloh Community
Church.  Louie was a good and kind person who always found the positive in
people and the situations of daily life.  He never spoke badly of anyone and
always had a smile for you.  He will be greatly missed by his family and many
friends.

Louie was married March 5, 1960, in Ionia to Shirley Moore, and she survives
along with their children, Randy Brooks, Tony and Cindy Brooks, all of Belding,
Lisa Rydahl and Kristina Holland of Greenville; his grandchildren, Tony,
Patrick, Matt, Alex, Cameron, Samantha, and Gabby; his great grandson, Caleb;
and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Brooks and Jackie Brooks, both of Belding.  Louie
was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Calvin and Arthur; his
mother and father-in-law, Lyle and Doris Moore; and his brother-in-law, Donald
Moore.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Shiloh Community Church with Pastor
Ken Harger officiating.  Interment with full military honors will follow in
Greene Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday
at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, and one hour prior to the service
at church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
