Her condition required an operation which was successful until paralysis caused her death noonday December 29. Miss Elizabeth Johnson was born at Belmont, Peterborough county, Ontario, August 17, 1850. When seventeen years of age she moved with her parents to a farm where she grew to womanhood. In April 1872 she became the wife of John Tabor. To this union was born a son, John. For many years Mrs. Brooks was engaged in the millinery business in Hubbardston. In 1920 she sold her property and moved to Gulfport, Florida. January 20, 1920 she was married to Dr. John Robbins, a former physician of Hubbardston, who died in August 1921. She was married to Walter Brooks formerly of Detroit, May 20, 1925. They lived at their home in Gulfport until her death. Mrs. Brooks was a kind and loving wife and mother. Her cheerful disposition was always an inspiration to those about her. She was a member of the Three- Quarter Century club and of the All-States society at Gulfport. Left to mourn her, are her husband, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Martha Tabor of Dowagiac, one grandson, Kenneth Tabor of Lansing, one great grand-daughter, Dorothy Jean Tabor of Lansing, two brothers, Frank and John Johnson, and two sisters, Mrs. Bell Percy, also many other relatives and friends. Prayer was held at the home in Florida Monday December 30 at 10 o’clock. The party left on the Seaboard Airline railway for Hubbardston, where funeral services were held at the Methodist church Friday January 2. Burial was in the west side cemetery. Another Publication: The Ionia County News, Thursday, January 8, 1931 The body of Mrs. Libby Tabor Robinson Brooks, 81, was laid to rest in West Side cemetery Friday afternoon following services at the M.E. church. Mrs. Brooks was a pioneer resident of Hubbardston, having served as post mistress for a number of years, and later conducting a millinery shop. Ten years ago following her marriage to Dr. Robinson, she moved to Florida. After his death she continued to reside there. Mr. and Mrs. Brooks were residing in Sarasota, when her death occurred.
