Lakewood News, 27 Aug 1996

Lake Odessa - Yvonne F. Brooks, age 70, of Lake Odessa, passed away Thursday,
August 22, 1996.  She was born December 9, 1925 in Lake Odessa, the daughter of
Claude and Harriet (Sutherland) Haney.  She attended Lake Odessa High School and
was married to Melvin Brooks on January 18, 1943 in Lake Odessa.  He preceded
her in death on November 17, 1994.

Surviving are two sons, Milo (Bonnie) Brooks of Ionia and Melvin Jr. (Martha)
Brooks of Las Vegas, Nevada; one daughter, Teri (Royce) Shilton of Lake Odessa;
ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Max Haney of
Hollandale, Florida; three sisters-in-law, Velma Trumpower of Lansing, Marilyn
Haney of Lake Odessa and Janet Haney of Florida; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services were held on Monday August 26, 1996 at the Koops Funeral
Chapel in Lake Odessa.  Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery.  Memorial
contributions may be made to the Lakewood Community Ambulance.  Arrangements
were made by Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.
