Feb. 20, 2018 GEORGE HENRY BROOKS, 97 George Henry Brooks, was born on May 11, 1920, in Nashville, Mich., the son of Howard and Louisa (Moore) Brooks. He married Betty Elaine Chapin June 24, 1944. George worked for over 40 years at Pesky Meat Packing, driving potato truck for Twin City Foods for 15 years.He also volunteered for five years at the Montcalm Commission of aging.. George was respected and loved by everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Betty; his parents, Howard and Louisa; his in-laws, Otis and Alta Chapin; seven brothers, one sister, six sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law. He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Seaman and Mary (Terry) Jones; grandchildren, John Seaman, Joe Seaman, Adam Jones, Kendra (Dan) Closser, Marci (Steven) Juskewicz and Terry McFarland jr.,; great-grandchildren, Dillon Closser, lakoda Closser, Zachary (Brittany) Jones, Allie Jones, Devin (Erin) Cooper and Darren Cooper; great-great- grandchildren, Skyler, Jada Lynn, Jaxon, Taylor, Toby, Peyton, Kaden, Kegan and Kolton; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will b a 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19,, at the Lake Funeral home in Ionia, with Pastor Church Dalton officiating Visitation will be one hour prior to the service (1-2 p.m.). Interment Tuttle cemetery.
