Born January 8, 1949 in St.Johns son of Robert "Bob" & Virginia (Simmons) Brooks. Graduated Carson City High School 1967. received BS from ferris State Univ. in 1972. Worked in the grocery business, 1st in family business, Brooks IGA then Leppinks Food Center in Lakeview. Graduated from WEMAC an intensive addiction recovery program in Grand Rapids, He maintained his sobriety for over 35 years & helped others in AA & NA meetings. Music was important in his life, He was an accomplished pianist and Organist. Ed was an extrovert, loved talking with everyone. Started the Carson City Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner for welcoming fellowship. Survived by his brothers, Wayne(Susan) Brooks, Joseph (Debbie) Brooks, Ashleigh (Josh) Roberts, Jonathon Brooks, great niece Leyla Sorensen and great-nephews Bryce, Cole and Reeve Sorensen. Preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place. Interment later at Carson City Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Lux and Schnepp Funeral home, Carson City.
