BROOKS Arlen L. Brooks, age 92, of Clarksville, MI passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. Arlen was born July 24, 1930 to Frank and Edna (Case) Brooks in Clarksville, MI. Arlen grew up and lived in Clarksville all his life. He worked at Colby Bank- Wayland-United Bank for over 40 years. In 1955 he married Maebelle Stafford and together they raised four children in Clarksville. Arlen served as the Campbell Township Treasurer for many years, fully retiring at age 84. He belonged to the Clarksville Lions Club, Ionia County Gideons International. Arlen served the Clarksville Bible Church in many positions including treasurer, board member, Sunday School teacher, Awana Leader and as well as playing the piano and organ which he played at Calvary Grace Brethren Church as well. Besides his religious and civil work in the community, Arlen was well known for his garden and yard. He also enjoyed Sunday dries and visiting older people of the community.Which gave him an excuse to go get some Dairy Queen Ice Cream. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Maebelle of 67 years; children, Cathy (Javier)Martinez, Judy (Mark) Rosenberger, Susan Smith and David (Sylvia) Brooks; grandchildren, Matthew, Luke, Jason,Dana,Charlie, Christina, Brooke, Jamie, Joshua and Jalyn; 21 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson,Jonathan Rosenberger; sister Evelyn Stebbins; brother, Lyle and Harold Brooks. A visitation for Arlen will be held Saturday,Aug.27, 2022 from 9 to 11 a.m at Clarksville Bible Church, 191 S.Main St., Clarksville, MI 48815, followed by a funeral services at 11 a.m. Donations in lieu of flowers are suggested to Gideons International or to Campbell Township Rec.
