Ionia Sentinel Standard, 19 Feb 1945

Mrs. Adine Brooks, 76, of 127 Lafayette street, died Monday morning in the
O’Keefe sanitarium, Grand Rapids.  A former school teacher, Mrs. Brooks was born
September 26, 1868, in Sparta.  

She was married to Dwight Brooks, who died in 1933.  Mr. Brooks was a former
Ionia business man, later moving to Chicago and Sparta where his death occurred.
 Mrs. Brooks had been residing with her cousin, Mrs. Myrtelle Peck, the only
close survivor.

Mrs. Brooks was a member of the Church of Christ and was active in all church
activities.  She was teacher at the Bellamy circle of that church.  Shye was
graduated from Albion college.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Stone funeral home, funeral services
will be held for Mrs. Adine Brooks, 76, of Lafayette street.  Dr. Paul L.
Stewart will officiate and burial will be in Highland Park cemetery.
