Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 6 Nov 1970

Mrs. Edna M. Brooks, 82, died Thursday morning at Ionia Manor following a
lengthy illness.  Born in Marion, June 18, 1888, she was a daughter of Allen S.
and Della Phillips Case.  Married October 12, 1905, to Frank E. Brooks, who
preceded her in death December 29, 1933, she was a member of Clarksville Bible
church and its missionary society.  She was also the church Sunday school
superintendent and a member of the church board for many years.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Maurice Stebbins of rural Ionia, two sons, Lyle
C. Brooks of Lansing and Arlen L. Brooks of Clarksville, seven grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.  A son, Harold, died April 1943, during World War II
in the south Pacific.

Funeral arrangements are being made by Pickens funeral chapel in Clarksville,
with services at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Clarksville Bible church, the Rev. Paul
Boger of Grandville, and Rev. Elwood Norton of Clarksville officiating.  Burial
will be in Clarksville cemetery.
