Nearly three score years and ten have passed since the then happy couple took those solemn vows. William Brothers was born in Beaver county, Pennsylvania, June 6, 1819, and died Oct. 13, 1907, having reached the ripe old age of 88 years, 4 months and 7 days. He was united in marriage to Catherine May, Oct. 15, 1840. To this union was born eight children, four sons and four daughters, three sons and one daughter surviving him; they are Oscar of Indiana, George of Howard City and Albert of Chadwick, who is looking after the old folks; the daughter is Mrs. Wm. Wheeler of Chadwick. Mr. Brothers was a faithful member of the Free Methodist church for many years and died with a firm faith in the hereafter. The funeral was held at the late home on Tuesday, Rev. E. Chapman of Fenwick conducting the service. Deceased was one of a family of nine children, one of whom survives him.
