Dannie J. Brovont, 85, of 1059 Emerson, in Lake Odessa died Sunday morning at 
Kent Community Hospital in Grand Rapids following an extended illness.  He was 
born Jan. 8, 1895, in Indiana, the son of Joseph and Susan Brovont.  He 
attended Indiana and Ionia County rural schools.

Mr. Brovont married Grace Stadel, who preceded him in death in 1945, and later 
married Cora (Begerow) Knapp June 1, 1947, in Greenville.  He lived in the 
Lake Odessa area most of his life.  He was a farmer and custom thrasher, and 
was a member of the Ionia County Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his wife, Cora; four stepchildren; several step-
grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel, 
with the Rev. James Hulett officiating.  Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.  
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Cancer Fund or 
the Lake Odessa Ambulance.  Friends and relatives may visit from 2 to 4 and 7 
to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.
