Ionia Sentinel Standard, 12 May 1971

Mrs. Laura D. Brovont, 90, of route 1, Freeport, died late Tuesday night at
Spring Brook Manor Rest home in Grand Rapids.  She was born in Ohio, July 5,
1880, the daughter of Washington and Sadie Brenneman Petry.  Her husband Tobias
died in 1955.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Wilcox of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Howard
Wilcox of Parnell, eight sons, Ivan of Marion, Stanley of North Manchester,
Ind., Emory and Jesse of Los Angeles, Calif., Ezra of Fallon, Nev., Glen of
Freeport, Sharron of Battle Creek and Ernest of Galion, Ohio, 38 grandchildren
and 20 great grandchildren; one step-daughter, Mrs. Letha Flory of Dayton, Ohio;
four sisters, Rosa Petry of Richmond, Ind., Mrs. Olive Slick of New Paris, Ohio,
Mrs. Elfa Funkhuser of Richmond, Ind., and Mrs. Vaughn Foster of Gaston, Ind.;
three brothers, Harvey Petry of Eldorado, Ohio, Lester of Ohio and Dr. Ezra
Petry of Kansas City, Mo.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Campbell Old Order church,
southwest of Lake Odessa.  Elder John Flora will officiate and interment will be
at the church cemetery.  Mrs. Brovont is at the Pickens funeral chapel in
Clarksville.
