Portland Observer, 30 Aug 1962

Mrs. Ethel Brower, 80, of Portland, died at a Lansing hospital last Friday, and 
services were held at Neller Funeral Home Monday afternoon, the Rev. Robert 
Treat officiating.

She is survived by a son, Howard, of Mt. Prospect, Ill. and a sister, Dr. Orah 
Peake of Greeley, Colo.  

The deceased was a member of the Methodist Church and W.S.C.S. and one of the 
church circles was named in her honor.

Bearers were C.J. Hill, Russell Blackman Sr., Vern Minkley, W.H. Griffiths, 
Horace Hath and Kenneth Figg.  Burial was in Portland cemetery.
