Ionia Sentinel Standard, 29 Apr 1965

Mrs. Mary J. Brown, 72, died at 10:15 Wednesday night at Dykhouse nursing home 
in Ionia where she had been a patient seven months.  She had been ill the past 
four years.   Born March 18, 1893 in Sebewa township, she was the daughter of 
Henry and Eva Probasco Snyder.  Following her marriage to Walter Brown in 1920, 
she resided in Sebewa until moving to Lake Odessa in 1921 where she lived until 
her recent illness.  Mr. Brown died July 6, 1947.

Mrs. Brown was a member of Blue Star Mothers Chapter and was a charter member 
of LaVerne Demaray Unit of American Legion auxiliary.  She attended 
Congregational church of Lake Odessa.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Stalter of Lake Odessa; a son, George 
L. Brown of Ionia; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Donald Besnchoter of 
Sunfield; nieces and nephews.  

Funeral service will be at Pickens funeral chapel Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with 
interment at Lakeside cemetery.  The Rev. Paul Bennehoff will officiate.  
Committal service will be at the chapel.
