He was born on Oct. 19, 1928, in Ionia the son of Harold and Hattie Font Brown. Prior to joining the United States Navy, Buck worked on the lower lakes, sailing on the Great Lakes. During World War II, he served at Bikini Island. He was married on Sept. 27, 1952 in Scottville to Patricia Englebrecht. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia, and their children, Terry (Brenda) Brown of Belding, Gary (Sue) Brown of Rockford, his grandchildren Sheria and special friend Corey, Derek, Codey, Alyssa, Samantha, Nick and Melinda, Joey and Jasmine. Buck is also survived by his sister and brother in law, Vera and Harold McDonald of Leslie and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Jackie and two sisters, Betty Carpenter and Doris Rahn. Memorial services are 2 p.m. Monday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Belding with Pastor Gary Jacobsen officiating. Interment will be in Center Riverton Cemetery in Scottville. No visitation will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or Holy Cross Lutheran Church. The family is being served by Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Belding.
