Eugene Orlando Brown, 91, died at Hawley convalescent home in Muir Friday,
December 28, after being a patient there for 1 ½ years.

He was born in North Plains township February 6, 1860, the son of Cyrus L. and
Lucritia Brown.  He was the second child in a family of 11 children.  He spent
the first years of his life on the Brown farm in North Plains township.  When he
was about 50 years of age he moved into Ionia and build his home on Jermyn
street.  He was married to Celia Hyde who preceded him in death May 11, 1939. 
Mr. Brown was a retired farmer and real estate operator.

Surviving are a brother, Artiemus, of Edmore; 13 nephews and two nieces.

Funeral services will be held from the Stone-Kauffman funeral home Monday at
2:30 p.m.  Interment in the family lot, Palo cemetery.
