Ionia Sentinel – 26 January 1966
Mrs. Laila Snell Brown, 70, died Tuesday in Ypsilanti.  Daughter of the late 
Alpheus and Ida Snell, she was born in Keene Township December 9, 1896.  After 
attending Saranac high school, she completed her education and graduated in 
Washington, D.C.  There she took a civil service position which she held 
several years.  

Her survivors include an uncle, Eugene Snell of Ionia; three aunts, Mrs. 
Martha Taylor of Saranac, Mrs. Kathleen Heald of Laverne, Calif., and Cora 
Snell of Washington D.C.  Funeral service will be at 2 pm Thursday at Morris 
funeral home.  The Rev. Eldon Cummings will officiate and burial will be at 
Saranac cemetery.
