The Ionia Sentinel, Thursday, March 8, 1900
Mrs. Jane E. Brown, who has been a resident of Saranac for the past 30 years, 
died Tuesday of consumption.  The funeral will be held Thursday morning.

Deceased was 77 years of age, and was well known and highly respected.  For 20 
years of her residence there she was engaged in the millinery business.
