Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 27 Oct 1959

Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon for Chas. F. Brown, 83, a former
Ionia resident, who died October 21 in a nursing home in Rochester, N.Y.  IOOF
lodge service was held Friday evening at 9 p.m.  Burial was at the Avon cemetery.

Mr. Brown was born April 17, 1876, in Avon, N.Y., and moved to Ionia when a
small child.  He attended Gorham school and was a graduate of Lyons high school
and Albion college.  He also attended several other colleges during his career
as a teacher.  He returned to New York about 1920, where he made his home until
his death.

He is survived by one brother, Ed Brown of Lyons; four nieces and four nephews.

Mr. Brown was a member of the IOOF lodge for many years, and was a member of the
Sons of the American Revolution.  Arrangements were made by the Frick funeral
home in Rochester, N.Y.
