Ernest Brown, 80, formerly of Orleans, died Friday at the home of his daughter, 
Mrs. Donald Barden at Ithaca.  He was born October 5, 1873, the son of Benson 
and Lydia Allen Brown in Hinton township, Mecosta county.  September 18, 1887 
he was married to Edna Gilmore at Lakeview and they lived most of their lives 
in Mecosta except for a short time in Henderson prior to their moving to 
Orleans in 1943.

Surviving besides his wife, Edna, are three daughters, Mrs. Theodore Holland of 
Orleans, Mrs. Donald Barden of Ithaca and Mrs. R. J. Harrant of Cheshire, Conn; 
two sons, Harley of Muskegon and Virgil of L’Anse; eight grandchildren and five 
great-grandchildren.

The body reposes at the Donald Barden funeral home in Ithaca and funeral 
services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Orleans church 
with the Rev. Lester Clough officiating.  Pallbearers will be Theodore Holland, 
Harley Brown, Virgil Brown, R. J. Herrant, Richard White and Robert Rockefeller.
