Ionia Sentinel Standard, 14 Dec 1972

A former Ionia resident, Mrs. Sophia Brown, 68, died at Reed City hospital
December 12.  She was born May 28, 1904 at Indian River and attended Indian
River school.  She had lived in Grand Ledge before coming to Reed City in 1937.
 The last four years she made her home in Hershey.  She was a member of Temple
Baptist Church in Ionia.  Her husband, William R. Brown, preceded her in death.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Louise McCone of Homer, Mrs. Jean Hoag of 
Coldwater, Mrs. Shirley Ceigler of Ionia, Mrs. Arlene Murray of Grand Rapids;
three sons, Nelson Miller and David Miller of Santa Rosa, Calif., William Brown,
Jr., of Remus, sister Mrs. Grace Rennie of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 35 grandchildren
and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 pm at McDowell funeral home in Reed City. 
Rev. Marvis Hale will officiate and interment will be at Easton cemetery, Ionia.
 Friends may call at the McDowell funeral home at any time.
