Mrs. Edna E. Brown, 68, of Portland, died at the Meitler convalescent home in
Portland, Wednesday night.  She had been a matron and teacher at the school for
blind in Lansing for over 12 years.  Mrs. Brown had lived west of Portland on a
farm, for a number of years.  Born January 2, 1889 in Portland, she was a
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Chase and was married to Harry Brown.  He
preceded her in death 18 years ago.

Surviving are for daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Mullins and Mrs. Cleda Sawyer of
Portland, Mrs. Arlene Jaress of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Barbara Fitzpatrick of
Gowen, two sons, Burton T. Brown of Portland and Adelbert Brown of Three Rivers,
27 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Neller
funeral home in Portland with the Rev. Park Newcomb officiating.  Burial will be
in Danby cemetery.
