Brown, 68, of Belding, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at Spectrum Health System’s Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids after a courageous fight with brain cancer. Linda passed away peacefully in the compassionate arms of her family. Linda’s life was filled with joyous memories of fishing in Canada, bowling and hunting for morel mushrooms with her family. Linda was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers and rarely missed a game. Linda was a proud Belding alumni, graduating in the class of 1958. After retiring from Gibson Refrigeration Co., she began working at Klackles Orchards, which brought her much joy and she was anticipating returning to the bakery and doing what she enjoyed, making doughnuts and hanging out with her friends. When Linda was not working she was immersed in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Linda loved every child, grandchild and great-grandchild dearly and was always a pillar of support for our family. Linda was born to Emmett and Isabella Moyer in Greenville on Dec. 25, 1939, and was married to her beloved husband, Les Brown on February 14, 1959. Linda and Less raised three beautiful children together Robert, Kari and Marci. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Isabella, and four sisters, Mary Lou, Alberta, Jeraldine and Maris. Linda is survived by her beloved husband; her brothers Harry “Bud” and Velma Jean of Saranac, Emmett and Ann of Greenville, and one sister, Judy and Ed Zuidevind; three children, Robert and Kay Brown of Belding, Kerry and John LaBelle of Belding and Marcy and Tracy Smith of Ludington; six grandchildren, Robert and Elle Brown of Belding, Mandy and Chad Rasmunssen of Ludington, Ashleigh and Robert Rickert of Belding, Corey and Tory Brown of Colorado Springs, Colo., Andrew Smith of Graceville, Fla., Adeline LaBelle of Belding; five great-grandchildren, Noah, Xander, Lukas, Kayleigh and Logan. Also surviving Linda is her much beloved beagle, Dutchess. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Interment will follow in River Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the wishes of the family in honor of Linda.
