Daily Sentinel, Tues., June 2, 1908
Mr. Alva Brown; aged 86, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ambrose smith, 
on State road north, at 2 o'clock this morning. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. 
Sawyer of Greenville and Mrs. Smith. Funeral at 1 p.m. from house, standard 
time, Thursday. Burial in Woodard lake cemetery
