The Belding Banner-News, Thursday, October 25, 1928


Mrs. Clara Brown, aged 64, was born in Jefferson, New York in the year 1864.  
In early life they moved to Stanton, Michigan, where she was married December 
24, 1891 to Sylvanous Brown, of Belding.  One child was born to this union who 
died in infancy.  They moved to Muskegon in 1907, lived there until the death 
of her husband in 1923, coming back to Belding to the home of his daughter, 
Mrs. R. B. McConnell, 916 Alderman street, where she lived until death, October 
18, 1928.  She was an active member of the M. E. church, a kind and loving 
mother and dearly beloved by all who knew her.
