PORTLAND- Sydney J. Brown, 91, of Portland, died on Friday in Portland.

He was born in Cornwall, England, on May 17, 1907, the son of John and Annie 
Pierce Brown.

He owned and operated S.J. Brown Livestock Trucking and retired as manager from 
Michigan Livestock of Portland.

He is survived by his daughter Gladys Spitzley of Portland; three 
grandchildren, Elizabeth Hart of Middleville, Patricia Spitzley of Lansing, and 
William Spitzley of Pewamo; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Neller Chapel, Portland, with the 
Rev. Julian Reginato officiating.

the family will be at the funeral chapel Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. 
and 7 to 9 p.m.

Burial will be in the Portland Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Christopher and Patricia Spitzley, Harold Evans, James 
Benschoter, Douglas Hart, and William Spitzley, Jr.
