WALTER MERLE BROWN
Died July 21, 2016-age 97,
Born Danby Township. Sept. 21, 1918 son of A. Burton and Minnie A. (Sayer) Brown
World War II Veteran-Corporal in HQ Battery 423rd FA Group-was in European African 
Middle Eastern theatre including Sicily and Italy.
Member of VFW Post #4090 in Portland 
Joined Sebewa Corners United Methodist Church  & later Sunfield United Methodist 
Church.
Married to Maxine J. Duffey on December 1, 1945 for 63 years. She passed Jan. 29,
2009 
A life-long farmer, besides owner and operator of Brown & Son Excavating
After retirement enjoyed winters in Texas, traveling and camping.
Preceded in death by parents, wife, two  brothers, sister, sister-in-law &
brother-in-law and great-grandson.
Survived by five children, 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-
grandson, one brother, two sister-in-laws, nieces & nephews.
Visitation Monday, July 25, from 1-3 & 6-8 at Sunfield United Methodist Church.
Services Tuesday July 26 at 11 a.m at the church.
Burial  at Danby Cemetery with Military Honors
Arrangement by the Independent family owned Rosier Funeral Home in Sunfield
