FUNERAL WEDNESDAY AT THE HOME. Milton Brown after a long illness of many months passed away at his home early Monday morning. Everything possible was done for his recovery which he hoped for through weeks of his lingering illness. The funeral was held at the home Wednesday afternoon with Rev. R. A. Hoffman officiating. The floral tributes were many, there being 22 sprays besides baskets and other cut flowers. Interment was at Lakeside cemetery. OBITUARY Milton Doud was born June 21, 1873, the son of Solomon and Emma Doud. At the age of about three years he was adopted by Cyrus and Mary Brown of Carlton township. October 11, 1899 he was married to Miss Ruby Davis of Woodbury. Eight children were born to this union, Clyde, Otto, Lester, Royal, Thelma, and Sopha preceding the father in death; Gerald and Gaylia surviving their father. He leaves besides these his widow, and a grandson Richard Brown. Mr. Brown has resided in Flint and Port Huron where he worked at his trade as a carpenter. He was a member of the United Brethren church and died in the faith he had espoused. For many years the family have lived in Lake Odessa where they have had many friends. Those present from away to attend the funeral were; Mrs. and Mrs. Edd Mercer, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Mercer of Flushing, Mr. and Mrs. Burl Strong, Mrs. and Mrs. Rayond Barson, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Staples and Mrs. Fern Corey of Flint, Mr. and Mrs. Mr. & Mrs. Clayton Davis of Royal Oak, Mrs. Pearl Pfeifer of Battle Creek, and Charles Jacobs and sister of Lansing.
