September 21, 1907 TWO BROTHERS CALLED HOME One of the saddest funerals that has been held here was the double funeral of two little brothers Otto Keith and Royal Milton, little sons of Mr and Mrs.Milton Brown at the U.B. church Wednesday afternoon. They had been sick about a week of acute dysentery and all done that loving hands could do yet they succumbed to its awful ravages; Otto dying at one o'clock and Royal at eleven P.M. Monday. Otto was 4 yrs, 1 mo, and 22 days old and Royal 2 yrs, 2 mo. and 10 days. They will be greatly missed in their house and by their playmates as they were wide awake and active children yet so patient and quiet in their sickness. The sorrowing parents are now childless having laid away their four children, Clyde, the oldest dying of pneumonia at age of five months at Vanderbuilt and another son, when a few days old. Mr and Mrs Brown, who was formally Miss Ruby Davis, have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their great loss. Longfellow the great lover of children had truthfully said---- "There is a Reaper, whose name is Death, And with his sickle keen, He reaps the bearded grain at breath, And the flowers that grow between," "And the mother gave to tears and pain The flowers she most did love She knew she would find them all again. In the fields of light above." Not lost but gone before. Their pastor, Rev. Crites officiated . Interment in Lakeside cemetery. Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr and Mrs Cyrus Brown of Grand Raids, Clayton Davis of Harbor Beech, Mr and Mrs Jake Miers of Lowell and Milton Brown's sister and husband of Alma.
