She was born on May 24, 1934, in Lake Odessa, MI, the daughter of Hobart and Edna (Narregang) Carpenter. Beverly's journey began alongside her parents in the quaint town of Lake Odessa, wher she grew up surrounded by the warmth of a close-knit community. After graduation from Lake Odessa High School in 1952, she embarked on a life filled with love, laughter, and the simple joys of everyday life.He first job, popping popcorn at the local movie theater, would serendipitously lead her to the love of her life, Harold Brown. The two were united in marriage on March 1, 1953, and together they built a life rich in love and family until Harold's passing on Valentine's Day in 1999. Beverly found love once more and married Roy Schlachter on October 7, 2001, who preceded her in death. Beverly was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Walter Brown, and son- in-law, Mike O'Mara, and stepson-in-law, Jerry Morrissey. She is survived by her children,Pamela (Richard) Palmer and Paige (Michael) O'Mara; her grandchildren, Erin Palmer-Current, Matthew (Sarah) Palmer, Adrienne (Joseph) Wenger, Branden (Kristin) O'Mara, Gabriel (Megan) O'Mara, Wad (Liz) O'Mara,& Hannah O'Mara; her great-grandchildren, Bristyl Current; Abigail, Alexander, and Ava Palmer; Jeremy, Elise & Jase Wenger; Brenna & Henry O'Mara; Grant, Maeve & Aiden O'Mara; and Teddy O'Mara & his soon-to-be sibling;,stepson, Phillip (Karen) Schlachter, stepchildren, Kristen & Kerry. Beverly was an avid gardener. She was a dog lover, and she was never known to be without a canine companion by her side until recent years. Music filled Beverly's home and heart, as she play ed the organ and piano both for her own enjoyment and for the residents at Thornapple Manor. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 239 E.North Street, Hastings, MI 49048, or the Barry County Animal Shelter, 540 North Industrial Park Drive, Hasting's Mi 49058. A funeral was held Wednesday, Dec.4, 2024, at 11 a.m with visitation one hour prior at 10 a.m. at Girrbach Funeral Home, 328 S. Broadway, Hasting's MI 49058, Pastor Ken Scheck II officiating.
