The death of Mrs. Harriet L. Brown occurred last Saturday night about midnight. She had been sick for four weeks past and over a week before death claimed her her case was pronounced hopeless by the attending physician. The funeral services were held from the home Monday afternoon, Rev. J. J. Staley officiating. Mrs. Ferguson sang two solos. Burial in the River Ridge cemetery. Mrs. Harriet L. (Tallman) Brown was born June 11, 1836, in Rensselaer county, New York, came to Michigan with her parents in 1843, they settled in the north part of the present city of Belding, and she remained a resident of this immediate vicinity continuously until her death. She was married August 4, 1855, to Solomon S. Brown, who died May 1, 1881. Three sons are left to mourn the loss of a kind, loving and indulgent mother, James H., and Carroll S., of Charlotte, and Byron F., who lived at home, also two brothers and two sisters. - Belding Banner.
