Bertha E. Brown, 78, of Orleans died February 21, 1997 at the Greenville Care 
Center.  She was born January 25, 1919 in Jerome, Florida, the daughter of 
Harry “Homer” and Clara Lynn Blough.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus 
Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Greenville.  On November 23, 1935 in Highland 
Park, she married Ralph W. Brown Sr.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph; four children, Ellen Mae Snider of 
Orleans, Ralph W. II and Kay Brown of Orleans, David J. and Irene Brown of 
Salt Lake City, Utah and Terry Lee Brown of South Bend, Ind.; 15 grandchildren 
and nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one son, Robert 
Lloyd in 1995; one grandson, Matthew Brown; two brothers, NorMAN and Earl 
Blough.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of 
Latter-Day Saints in Greenville, with Bishop Rowell and Bruce Nelson 
officiating.  Interment will be in Orleans Cemetery.  Visitation will be 
Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 
p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Belding.  Memorial contributions 
may be made to the church missionary fund.
