He was born in Rochester, N.Y., February 26, 1866, the son of William and Susan Twist Brown. When a child he moved with his parents to Coldwater and later, as a young man, he came to Orleans. He was employed on farms in Orleans and Ronald townships most of his life. The last 15 years he assisted in the Louis Hall orchards in Orleans. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Louis Haight and Mrs. Peter Gillispie of Coldwater and Mrs. Worthy Speiglemire of Detroit; and two brothers, Alex of Coldwater and A. J. of Steubenville, Ohio. The body was removed to the Fitzjohn funeral home in Belding. Burial will be in Orleans cemetery. Funeral arrangements are pending the arrival of relatives from away.
