Howard J. Brown, 53, died in Greenville United Memorial hospital Monday.  He 
retired as a Belding city councilman last month.

He was a partner in the Howard J. Brown and Son electrical supply and 
contracting firm at Belding.  He had been a resident of Belding for 44 years 
and had served as assistant fire chief for the city of Belding.  He had been a 
member of the Belding Chamber of Commerce board of directors.

Funeral services are to be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Huffman funeral home 
and burial will be at River Ridge cemetery.

Survivors are his wife Irene, a daughter, Mrs. Wayne Gill, son, Marvin all of 
Belding; two sisters, Mrs. Ed Nevins of Lansing and Mrs. Lyle Fox of Belding; a 
half sister, Mrs. Harold Rowland of Muir; two brothers, Bernie and Harold of 
Greenville; a half-brother, Seth Russell of Pewamo, his step-parents and six 
grandchildren.
